Noisy Lifters, page two.

Even though there was nothing to suggest the pump was bad, given the work involved to remove the pan we decided to replace the oil pump. Hot Heads has a high volume pump for this engine. It is modified from a 340 oil pump, and here is the installation.

The original oil pump installed on the rear main bearing.

While talking with Bob Walker at Hot Heads about the oil pump and the small amount of oil we found at the rocker shaft, Bob said Chryslers don't have much oil up there by design and we should not be concerned. Sure enough, when we fired up the engine with the new oil pump, we had only slightly more oil at the rockers with significant higher pressure on the dash gauge.

We were not surprised when the higher oil pressure did not solve the lifter clacking.
