Golden Lion Grrrages

Designed by Virgil Exner, the 57 300C has dramatic styling.
Sales in 1957 took off as a result.

This car is VIN 3N571107, built January 8, 1957. When Ron Fedoryk restored the car, the VIN tag was missing. The state of California issued a new tag based off of the engine number. As a result, the car has the VIN 3N571132.

Gil Cunningham determined the car was sold to dealer #8991, Battin Motor Company, West Chester, PA. Battin Motor went out of business January 2, 1967. The paint code is ZZZ, special order, Ditzler code unknown. Power seat, power windows, no power steering, AC, dual headlights, no stone shields, touch tone radio with rear speaker, power antenna.

Gil also writes:
"I first saw this car in the back yard of Bob Brass in 1975. I know it was the same, because I noted the engine number--- then by means of the microfilm found the VIN. The history of owners is incomplete but I believe Bob had this car in 1971. The car's whereabouts were subsequently unknown for many years until acquired by Ron."

Ron Fedoryk writes:
"I bought this car from Dave Foley from San Juan Batista CA. He told me that he had bought 6-8 other 300's from a College Professor at either Merced or Fresno CA. This Professor had them sitting on his property for approximately 25 years and had been ordered by the county to get rid of them so he sold them.
Gil Cunningham made me aware of the special order color and advised me to keep the same color because at first I was going to paint it black. After I painted it gunmetal gray I was the happiest guy in California."

The Chrysler 300 Club has the microfilm for 3N571107 and shows it was built with engine 3NE571132. That engine still sits under the hood.
